Travel
Travel
We know traveling to Italy can be a large expense. If flexible, we recommend flying to Rome (FCO).
Car
Driving from Rome to Florence takes about 3 hours on the A1 and is a picturesque drive. This option also allows you to be able to drive around the Tuscan countryside.
Train
Rome Termini Station to Florence Santa Maria Novella Station is about 1.5 hours.
Travel Tips
Pre-Book Museum Tickets
May / June is the start of busy season in Florence and many museum tickets get purchased days in advance. Be sure to book ahead or purchase a Florence Museum Pass.
Carry Cash
Usually a standard when traveling but most street vendors only accept cash. There are many exchange shops in the main plazas.
Be Wary of Pick Pockets
Although a very safe city, pick pocketers love to target tourists in Italy. Be alert and always keep your bag closed!
